Animals Turn on Man?

I was watching TV and a commercial came on for a new show that was coming called Zoo. It is basically a story about animals turning on humans. It reminds me of the shows I used to watch when I was young about animals attacking, like The Birds, Jaws, Day of the Animals and many, many more. The stories all start out normal and then an animal or a species or many different animals run amok and turn on humans and kill them. Well these are only movies, right? This could never really happen? In the Tribulation that may be exactly what happens.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1:26-27

19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. Genesis 2:19-20

When God created the man, He gave man dominion over the animals. The animals came to Adam and he named them. There was no killing at this point, the earth was perfect and there was no sin in it. Once Adam and Eve sinned they were given skins to wear, so killing had begun in the world. Man would kill animals for food and use their skins to cover themselves.

16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them. Genesis 3:16-21

The Bible does not state that animals feared man at this point. After Noah and his family left the ark and released the animals, God said that from now on animals would fear man. This makes sense since Noah and his family had to feed and care for so many different animals. The animals on the ark did not fear or hate man and let themselves be cared for while on the ark.

And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. Genesis 9:1-2

We can see that this is true today. Most animals fear mankind, even domestic animals and pets have some fear of man. But what will happen during the Tribulation? Since so many judgments are raining down on the earth and so many will be killed in these judgments, would it not make sense that animals may contribute to this death? The Bible does not specifically state that animals will turn on man, but this verse in Revelation may be a hint that this is true.

And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.  Revelation 6:8

From this verse it may imply that the beasts of the earth will be set loose to kill people. It is an interesting concept, and frightening if it comes true. During the Tribulation people will just be trying to survive all the judgments, the last thing you would expect is all the animals turning against you too.
